We recently travelled to the Isle of Wight for the weekend, with my parents. They found a great deal at a caravan park on the island, so we decided to take advantage of a rare softball-free weekend and take a little trip! We were really lucky with the weather, despite a chilly wind the sun graced us for most of the weekend, meaning we could spend our days on Shanklin beach. The boys were amazing, happily pottering around, building sand castles and throwing stones into the sea. Our campsite had a swimming pool, crazy golf and an arcade, which kept us entertained on Sunday morning when the skies were grey. It was nice to get away, to explore somewhere new despite the fact we revisited a few places we'd been to last year! We didn't do any of the touristy things, because we did quite a few before and just wanted to relax. We found some amazing family friendly restaurants (including the Wight Mouse Inn) & the best ice cream along Shanklin sea front - it took us an age to decide from the huge variety of flavours available! We'll definitely be heading back to the Isle of Wight again, I'm drooling just thinking about that ice cream!
