Books, baseball and blogging goals #littleloves

Things have taken on a whole new level of crap this week. I had an accident playing softball last weekend, took a line drive from our best hitter to the shin while I was stood at third base. No break, thankfully (though my mother-in-law is convinced it's a stress fracture) but I have a big ol' haematoma that looks like the ball might still be inside, which is slowly spreading round my leg. As long as it's elevated I'm okay, if a little uncomfortable, but I can't put any weight on my leg so I've been using crutches to hobble to the bathroom and the garden and back to the sofa again. Which, to make matters worse, has started to bruise my hands. I'm slowly going completely insane, I can't do anything, it is so frustrating. Thankfully my amazing parents have been here every day, practically waiting on me hand and foot and entertaining the boys while I lie around feeling sorry for myself.

read
Books. I've had a lot of time to kill, being bed bound and all, and reading takes my mind off the pain. I have a library full of books upstairs but I couldn't remember without looking which ones I hadn't read. so I took the chance to order a couple more. I had an amazon gift card burning a hole in my pocket and I still cannot get over their 3 paperbacks for £10 deal. I've also reserved a few from my local library, my Mum took the boys to the library to start the summer reading challenge - I love that they love books like I do.

Well, this part has been a little tricky this week. I keep trying to think of something useful I can do while I sit around, but the most productive I have got is being completely up to date with all my social media and even (dare I speak to soon) this blog. I guess that counts, right?

watched
I've nearly finished the first season of Gilmore Girls and series 8 of Criminal Minds. I just cried over Rory and Dean, which may indicate I need to take a break but I don't think I can bring myself to. We've also been watching baseball - Daniel is now officially a Cubs fan and was thrilled at their win last night! It's adorable watching him figure out all the rules, my Dad is a big fan and is constantly quizzing him on numbers and lingo. They've gone to the park with my parents now to practice with a little bat my Dad got them, I can barely handle it.

wore
Nothing but shorts and pyjamas, and my brother's hoodie (which is the softest thing on this earth). I long for the day I can wear normal clothes, and wash my hair, again! I did make a little H&M order to cheer myself up, which I shared here.

and lastly
Every time I sit down to write, I start with all the ideas and then while I'm actually writing it all disappears! I end up getting distracted and only writing the bare minimum, wanting to get it finished quickly. I love this little blog of mine and I don't want to give it up, I'm hoping to chalk it down to writers block, because that's what happens to creative types. I want to take a break from social media in August, at least when I'm not on bed-rest, so maybe September I'll be back with a bang. Notebooks, cameras, goals, the works.
