Life Lately.

My creation

Ten things that are making me happy right now...

1 // The cloudy sky, after a rainy day.
2 // Halloumi, mushrooms & sweet potato fries.
3 // That Colin went out (twice!) to get for me, that's love.
4 // Flowers from my best friend.
5 // Crossing Disney Movie Day off my Bucket List, complete with duvet and snuggling.
6 // The boys fell asleep within minutes after a busy few days.
7 // Eating dinner with my favourite, date night at home.
8 // The wedding plans are coming along & people are starting to RSVP!
9 // A large, cold glass of wine.
10 // A good action film. Yes, really!

Centrepieces, table numbers, seating plans, invitations, menu choices, my head is spinning. In a good way though, I'm trying to get things sorted while I have the week off work, before I start placement and write off the next month. I MUST send the invitations by the end of the week, and I'm spending the next hour (while Daniel watches Frozen and Joshua sleeps) browsing Pinterest. I'm thinking simple, greens and pinks, floral with  little glitter. Seventy three days to go!

Life Lately.

My creation

A whirlwind fortnight, pottering about doing the usual sleep-eat-work-play-eat-sleep routine. I think half term next week is going to be super-relaxed, all the films and a little housework to prepare us for the next month of madness while I'm working on placement. I'm teaching for 5 weeks in a local school, and Mum's having the boys, so things are going to be hectic but good. Hopefully.

Flowers, lakes and ice-creams.

Colin and I, we don't get much alone time together. Mostly because I insist we do things as a family, I find it hard to be away from the boys, particularly now I'm working more. Having said that, Colin's parents offered to have the boys for the afternoon AND overnight and I said yes. I knew they would have so much fun and, actually, it is good to have time to unwind and relax without them sometimes. Remind me that next time.
We had a romantic stroll around the lake, hiked into beautiful foliage and talked about the boys, the wedding and work. We held hands and ate ice-creams, before heading home for dinner and then out with Colin's friends for drinks. We had a lot of fun, and the boys did too, waking their Grandparents up at silly o'clock and annoying their Uncle!

Ten on ten.

Sunday Funday. Another early start, fuelled for the day with coffee. Full of Avengers, superheroes left right and centre. A bizarre morning bath & a visit from the sweetest little family. Joshua was smitten with Mylah! Dinner at Nana and Grandad's, complete with Lego and football. Finished with a glass of red and a film with my love. My heart is full.

Linking up with the lovely Rebekah.

Daniel: Transfixed on The Avengers.

Joshua: Or, Captain Iron Man, apparently.

We're a little obsessed. Eat, sleep, play Avengers.

I couldn't resist this little face from last week, so expressive!

A few more from our farm trip on Monday, plus a few from throughout the week. I didn't take a single picture Wednesday or Thursday - the boys' football training has been moved to 6pm which means a mad rush after school getting everybody fed, watered and out the door, and I had a long day at Uni, travelling by train followed by a softball game! I was out of my comfort zone playing right field but my team are so awesome, building me up when I made mistakes, plus we won! I also handed in my last assignment this week so you may have heard my huge sigh of relief! My housework has taken a nose dive while we've been rushing here there and everywhere, but that can wait. I'll be more organised next week, perhaps ;)

May Day Bank Holiday.

We have just had the most perfect weekend. Friday night was date night, in celebration of Colin's Birthday earlier this week. Dinner and a movie, Italian (my favourite!) and Fast and Furious 7 (fast cars - Colin's favourite!) Saturday started like any good Saturday should, with croissants and coffee, and included a trip to the dump - the spare room is finally cleared! Typical Bank Holiday shenanigans, tidying and sorting in comfy clothes. Sunday included a full English breakfast and hilarious conversations over coffee, a brief sunny spell and some football practice, dinner at the in-laws which meant I could squeeze in some assignment reading while the boys were occupied. Monday, a family trip to a local farm to feed the animals and play at the parks! I knew Joshua would love being up close to all the animals but my usually over-cautious Daniel surprised me, feeding lambs and goats out of the palm of his hand and stroking all the animals. It was so lovely to watch, I got some awesome videos too which I'll share soon!

Back to normality today though, looming deadlines and over-tiredness has me longing for a time-machine!
