An off week for my little soldier, sick for the second time ever (at his Nanny's though!) Lots of baths, cups of coffee, and snuggles. Highlights included a nature walk & jello shots at my cousin's afternoon tea birthday party! Still giggling at my Mama doing shots at 3pm!
My number one to do for this week is to finalise the design for the invites. I've got the calligraphy drafted I just need to piece them together and print them, easy right? I'm toying between a simple typography deign or adding a little something, maybe gold dots or a pink watercolour wash. We'll see though...
We did a walk like this around this time last year, it's funny how that happens, I keep doing things and then they pop up in my Timehop a few days later! On the walk to Grandma's I let Daniel loose with my camera and set him off on a hunt to find signs of spring. His perspective always makes me smile, his four year old view of the world. He's getting much better at keeping his fingers off the lens too! Joshua did take a couple, the last one included, but most of them were of his fingers, bless. We spoke about being careful not to step on flowers, or pick them so everyone can enjoy them (daisies and dandelions not included!), about how plants grow and the possibility of starting our own little garden where we can plant our own. Exciting stuff, despite the fact I'm pretty sure I have a black thumb and have never liked the idea of gardening before!
We're excited to see more sings of spring, Daniel's been pointing them out left right and center, and for the weather to warm up a little. Come on sun!
"Me weed da wish wight naw?" (Me feed the fish right now?)
J requested to go home in the new pushchair & D wanted to help push. "Thank you Mummy. Thank you Daniel. Best day ever!"
Before Daddy left one morning,
D: I'm going to miss you this much!
J: I'm going to miss you this much!
D: I'm going to miss you to the moon!
J: I'm going to miss you to the seaside!
"Pull dis, please... You da best... You da best Daddy in da whole werld!"
Playing with the fish cleaner.
Me: You shouldn't be playing with that, let go.
J: Look it's gone!
Me: Well who's fault is that?
Me: Daddy isn't even here!
J: Oh... Daniel. 😳
Joshua: Oh, I got logurt (yogurt) up my nose. I don't like it there... I don't want to eat dat now, it might have bogeys on. (Queue me reassuring him the rest will be fine and wiping his face) I don't want dis, dis logurt is too logurty and it's making a mess.
I realised the other day that we are officially in the busiest season of our lives so far. Work, school, uni, football, studying, social arrangements, but this is just the start. So I'm vowing to stop complaining and to live in the moment. Weekends just are't for lie ins and relaxation anymore, they're for rushing around from one engagement to another, seeing the people we love and doing the things we enjoy. Definitely not things to complain about! Yes, I'm tired but honestly, I've been tired for the last five years and it's not going to change any time soon! I might as well embrace the early mornings and late nights, to be productive. However, if anyone knows of any housework fairies, please let me know!
Another two week break. I won't promise that it won't happen again because it definitely will. My maths assignment was my main priority last week, this week it's all about presentations and poetry but it's not urgent so I'm catching up here first while I wait for some information. Just posted four 52 project posts, back on that bandwagon, hopefully.
Last week's goals:
// Breakfast, every morning. Winning.
// Two posts. I do think it took me two weeks though...
// Finish my maths assignment. Ooosh.
// Browse magazines for ideas and inspiration. Done.
// All the moisturiser. Generally taking better care of my skin.
// Stick to a posting schedule, particularly at the weekends. When I fall behind with the Life Lately post, then the 52 project, then this things get a little hairy.
// Finish research study presentation and start to catch up with English reading. I'm waaay behind and with an assignment to start I'd better get cracking.
// Invitations. For real. ASAP.
Also, inventing a time machine should be in there somewhere, but I'm not sure which category...
A portrait of my boys, once a week, every week, in 2015. Joshua: Blurry from the giggles, watching Despicable Me. Daniel:This really reminds me of the photo from this post. Inspired, as always, by Jodi at Practicing Simplicity. Bee.
So, I accidentally missed a week. Another slow start to a half term, and yet another assignment meant blogging fell by the wayside for a while. Unusual that. Hi everybody, I'm still alive and well, just readjusting. Back to business with last week's wishes.
// Morning smoothies and vitamins. Either a smoothie or a fruit juice, and some multivitamins. I like this habit.
// Take more photos. I did take a whole bunch over half term, though I have yet to edit or upload any...
// Write a draft maths assignment and get folder up to date. Folder is done, and I've written about 500 words but I know where I'm going with it.
// Design invitations. I literally just did this but I feel that still counts, right?! See above, not perfect but I used the wrong type of paper and it is only my second try!
// Breakfast, every morning. I've been really rubbish at this whole 'most important meal of the day' lark recently, must buck up my ideas immediately.
// Two posts. Nothing to hasty.
// Finish my maths assignment. I'd like to get it done early so it can be proof read, I'm just waiting for some books but I might start without them on Wednesday.
// Browse magazines for ideas and inspiration. We're pretty up to date with out to-dos so this one's just for fun.
