Life Lately.

My creation

A lengthy life update tonight. Usually these posts are rushed, my brain is barely functioning to think back on what we've been up to and I've got 2438 things on my to do list. Not tonight. I'm relaxing on the sofa with my Mama, chocolate and pitch perfect. It's a strange old week, we're off school for half term and I have a whole load of work to do but I feel like I'm not rushing so much. Colin's away on his stag do which has me even more excited about the wedding, and has us staying at my parent's for a few days. Two extra pairs of hands and eyes to help with the boys takes a lot of the stress away! All the extra time with the boys is filling my love tank. I'm struggling a little with my smallest, he's pretty spirited but I'm trying. We've been on bike rides, played football, been swimming, bowling, read books, took naps and spent a lot of time playing superheroes!

Weekly Wishes.

Health
// Two yoga workouts. Fail. I had every intention of doing one after hitting practice with my Dad this morning but when he cancelled I just carried on tidying up.

Blogging
// Ten on Ten. Fail again. Might try for a re-take this week.

Uni
// Tick three more things off my to-do list.  Done! Yay! Sceince folder is up to date, I added to my reading diary and made a start on my maths folder. Among other things.

Wedding
// Send the last few Save the Dates and practice calligraphy for invitations. Crap. I did start a gift registry and design a website though!

Well, that didn't exactly go well.

Health
// Morning smoothies and vitamins. Taking a break from the exercise lies idea.

Blogging
// Take more photos. It's half term so I'm not working, no excuses about light or time!

Uni
// Write a draft maths assignment and get folder up to date. Easy peasy, eek.

Wedding
// Design invitations. I WILL bust out that calligraphy pen this week.

Daniel: His creativity and imagination is incredible right now. So was that light.

Joshua: The youngest (and smallest, by far) on his team won Man of the Match, for "stoppin' all da peeple scorin'!" and was pretty darn proud.

I'll add the video later, because it's too cute not to share!

SNOW!

Untitled

Last week we were blessed with a light flurry of snow. As soon as the boys noticed Joshua was demanding to go outside and build a snowman, so we suited and booted with as many layers as we could manage and left for school earlier than usual (by some sort of snow fueled miracle) We threw a few snowballs and rejoiced that there was snow, sung a few Frozen songs and by the time we got home from school it had all melted. But it was pretty while it lasted.

I don't have any idea what he was so sad about, but holy cute!

Life Lately.

My creation

Highlights of last week:
// We got wedding shit done.
// I finally feel better! That cold felt like it lasted foreverr.
// Colin and I had a date night, and even a (vague) lie in the next day! It was REALLY nice to reconnect and talk wedding stuff.
// Daniel got the headteacher's award for trying really hard with his phonics AND got to stand up at the front of assembly. Life made.

I have no idea where time is flying to. The librarian was questioning me as to why our books were late back and I just had to admit I have no concept of time right now! We're lucky I'm turing up to work on the right days if I'm honest. I might start a daily diary for these posts, just so I can look back and have a reminder of what we got up to!

Weekly Wishes [05]

Just a reminder, this week.

I'm pretty impressed with myself this week, especially as I've barely had time to think about my goals! I'm on the hunt for a smaller, paper-back diary I can carry round with me to encourage me to check my to do lists and improve my productivity.

Last week's goals:

Health
// Drink more. I'm trying to remember to have a fruit tea at work and a glass of water with meals so that's better!

Blogging
// Take Project 52 photos. Yess! With my big camera too!

Life
// Get creative with the boys. Pretending I'm always creative.

Uni
// Read Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It was hard going but I did it. & wrote 500 words on how the story was told. Boom.

Wedding
// Buy lingerie and schedule dress fitting.  Texting a lady tomorrow for the latter.

This week's goals:

Health
// Two yoga workouts. I need to find some shorter ones, to make this more do-able. Any suggestions?!

Blogging
// Ten on Ten. I've succumbed to the fact blogging is last on my (looong) priorities list right now, if it doesn't get drafted Monday it's unlikely to happen, but I just love this project and will make one Tuesday exception.

Uni
// So. Much. Choice. Tick three more things off my to-do list. That'll do,

Wedding
// Send the last few Save the Dates and practice calligraphy for invitations.

Wish me luck! Linking up with The Nectar Collective to share goals, support and motivate!

I'm hoping this project will highlight the progress I make over the year with my photography. These pictures aren't perfect, because the lighting is waayy off but they were the best of the bunch. It looked so gorgeous in real life though, oh amateur photographer woes. I'll get there, I'm sure.

Everyday Style.

I didn't realise quite how similar this was to my last outfit post. Parka, stripes, ankle boots and hat. I guess I shouldn't really be surprised considering how cold it has been, and outside is the only place with decent lighting, hence the coat and hat. Stripes are a wardrobe staple, for the whole family, and I have worn these boots so much I have worn a hole in the heel!
I guess I can't complain about having my head chopped off in the last picture, as I do pay my four-year-old photographer in fruit snacks!

Wedding Planning: Suits.

My creation
Top L-R one, two, three
Bottom L-R one, two, three

I've been super productive on the wedding front this week. Sunday we popped into a Wedding Fayre to get some information from suit vendors, and an idea of what we liked. Grey all the way, light preferably, with a waistcoat for Colin. Our reception is at his golf club, so I like the idea of the groomsmen wearing argyle socks & a cheesy photo op. The baby's breath button hole looks really cute too, and easy! I've left Colin in charge of sorting his suit now, booking an appointment and trying things on, so hopefully he actually does it. We went to a local garden centre too, and bought some flowers to try DIY-ing bouquets, which wasn't all that difficult, especially after a few YouTube tutorials. With a couple of bunches of roses, some baby's breath, greenery from my parents' garden and some ribbon, it looked pretty effective. I tried on my dress to get an idea of the length and hair styles, and bought some shoes in the New Look sale!

6 months to go!
