"A portrait of my family, once a week, every week, in 2014."
Our first family picture in what feels like forever, and even though it's not perfect I LOVE it! Celebrating my babyboy's second birthday with family and friends. All the heart eyes.
Inspired by the wonderful Jodi, from Practising Simplicity
I threw together a construction party at the weekend, mostly because I'm disorganised but also because I am cheap. Luckily, Pinterest to the rescue! I made the cake Sunday morning, a super easy chocolate cake with broken Crunchies and Malteasers to look like rubble, I loved how effective it was! We went shopping for food essentials (brownies, chocolate cookies and Oreos for dirt) and orange coloured fruits. I covered the table with trash bags and added yellow strips to look like a road, and used some of our diggers as decor. Yellow straws and orange napkins were unearthed from my party cupboard, and a toolbox to hold the cutlery (or tools!) from a toybox. We even managed a trip to the splash pad park before naps! I sent Colin out for balloons, filled the sand box with sand and spades, filled a bucket with MegaBloks and collected the rest of the diggers. I always always forget to take pictures of the little details that I take so long sorting, and I always kick myself for it. Next year I'm hiring a photographer. Ha.
