RIP naps.

This kiddo is probably my favourite three year old on the planet. He drives me absolutely crazy at times, and can be quite stroppy (which he most certainly does not get from me), but whatever. He is hilarious, a chatterbox and so clever. He's made a pretty big change this year, he must have heard about New Years resolutions from somewhere. Daniel has, seemingly, stopped napping during the day, at three and a half. I thought I had a little while left of that peaceful break during the day, but we somehow forgot or powered through for whatever reason three days in a row, and it's just kind of stuck. He has been staying up way too late, just chatting to himself in bed, and waking earlier and earlier, so it was due. & just in case you were wondering (Mum!) he didn't wake until 7:20 this morning and was sound asleep by 8pm, I definitely count that as a win. It's a looooong day without that break though, and I don't know what I'm going to do without my almost-daily nap myself! I am looking forward to some special one on one time with him while his brother naps now, doing all the things we usually avoid due to those little fingers. I think we'll still have some 'quiet time' & watch a show or play on his Leappad or something so I can get some jobs done. I'm hoping to do some educational and learning activities too, to expand that wonderful little mind. He's been playing Alphablocks games at my parents' on the computer and now he suddenly knows all his letters! I'd love to expand that, teach him the phonics and then simple three letter cvc words next. I'm really excited actually, to have real conversations and watch him grow without the distractions of an unruly little brother around.
I'm cheers-ing to this new little chapter (and mourning the loss of naptime!) with a glass of rosé tonight, looking forward to two more lazy days before I go back to work, boo.

Bee.
