A quick park stop on our way home turned nature hunt when Joshua found a little acorn. It makes me laugh how easily fascinated children are. Joshua spent so long trying to put the hat back on to the acorn, and then trying it on himself! We gathered leaves, acorns and conkers on our walk, stopping to look at the trees they came from along the way. When we got home, I decided to keep their interest a little longer by adding paint in to the mix. Daniel chose the colours he wanted & I covered the table, just in case. Joshua loves anything creative, he insists we draw every day, so he loved this - most of it even stayed on the paper this time! I showed the boys how to print with the leaves, but they were just interested in painting them. The interest didn't last too long, but I had a blast printing leaves! We did some crayon rubbing later in the week too, and have been using the leftover in a sensory box. I think we'll be heading out for a few more nature walks this fall!
