001. Monday my brave baby had his 12 month immunisations, three jabs in his arms & leg! He was a superstar, and seemed fine after a looong nap. He's been a little cranky this week but I've blamed teeth, thankfully I found his amber anklet and his necklace arrived too, so he's been a lot happier the last couple of days.

002. This week we got new sand & water trays, conquered the fear of the big boy bike, and I had a fake tan emergency. I've since bought a fake tan mitt, which is great since now I think I'm addicted to looking bronzed.

003. Daniel took the last couple of (blurry) pictures. It's fun to see things through his eyes.

004. Weekends are my favourite. Yesterday we got a ton of stuff done in the morning & went to the Summer Fair in the afternoon. We helped on the Toy Tombola, Daniel won some prizes, got to jump on the trampoline, and played in the 'circus ring' where they had lots of big vehicles and diggers. Today we went shopping with my Mama, had lunch with Nanny & Grandad, went to Daniel's Godfather's for a BBQ with Colin's friends, popped in to see my Uncle because it's his birthday, & had a quick visit from Nana. Phew.

005. We have a few play dates this week, which will be fun! Lots of time outside & at parks. Daniel has another nursery visit Wednesday, we bought his uniform last week & now I'm an emotional wreck. I find out what my job will be next year on Tuesday, and hopefully meet my new class on Wednesday. Ooh, and we're going strawberry picking at the weekend!

Daniel - Three years, two months and 17 days old. I definitely have a threenager on my hands.
Joshua - One year, one week and five days old. I'm seeing less of a baby and more of a toddler every day.

We visited Beale Park at the weekend, a lovely little wildlife park, with my parents. We rode on a train, watched a model boat race on the river, stopped for a coffee (& hid from the rain!), splashed in puddles, worried about a tortoise who had somehow flipped onto his back, played pirates at an awesome park, went down all the slides in the indoor soft play room (hiding from the rain again!), walked around holding hands (I can't even!), walked the plank, and fell asleep in the car on the way home. Too much fun.

Our LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table is a big hit with both boys. Joshua currently uses it as a walker, pushing it round the laminate wood flooring, but it was great for helping him stand at first, keeping him entertained while working those leg muscles.

A nap time necessity. Mothercare Cotton Cellular Blanket, great for wrapping round Joshua, we never really swaddled but I feel the sleeping bag is too thick for naps, so this is perfect. I'm not scared about him covering his face, because of all the holes, but it also keeps him snug and warm.

Plastic play balls, or any ball at all! These are small enough for little hands, robust enough for little mouths and bright enough to attract attention, even the ones hidden under the couch!

Lamaze Play & Grow Jacques The Peacock was one of Joshua's only Christmas presents, but I chose well! Jacques has lots of right colours, textures and even sounds, great for distracting Joshua from climbing/eating dirt/pulling his brother's hair.

Stacking cups for hours of fun. Joshua personally enjoys bashing them together, they make a pretty loud noise. I enjoy seeing how big I can build a tower before one of the boys knocks it down, followed by giggles and tickles, and lots of 'You cheeky monkey!' Small enough to fit under the pram, or even in the changing bag, we like the bright colours too!

I seriously love our Amber Teething Necklace. I wasn't totally convinced, but I'd heard good things about amber so I thought it was worth a try. I got Joshua an anklet at first, more manly I thought, but socks don't last five minutes with this kiddo, so the anklet didn't either. We lost one in the move, so I ordered another. I'd noticed Joshua dribbled in the bath a lot more, when I'd taken his anklet off, so I thought it was dong something at least. Then we lost the second one, a few weeks ago. All hell broke loose. I moaned on twitter, maybe Instagram too, about my whiny, clingy baby but I knew the minute I bought another, it would turn up as I was sure it was in the house. I caved and went for a necklace this time, as there was less chance of it getting lost, and after a little research into the length I needed I placed my order. Of course a couple of days later I found the first anklet, hidden in a box of my shoes from the move, of course. I've since used the old anklet as a bracelet for Daniel, when he moaned about his mouth hurting, and he didn't mention it again all day. I'm totally convinced now, for sure, and will probably be buying one for all the pregnant Mamas I know (and my Nan too, who suffers terribly with her knees and arthritis)!

Always a blur, always on the move. My camera feed is seriously lacking pictures of this little dude, because he's never still enough to get a shot! "Cheese" is often accompanied by a manic grin & looking everywhere-but-the-camera. Oh, threenagers.

Last week we busted out the water beads. The weather wasn't nice enough to be outside so I filled a washing up bowl with a little water, grabbed some bath toys & added the water beads. I popped Joshua into his highchair & did the same on his tray, sensory play is fantastic for babies. I had to keep a close eye on him as he kept trying to eat them, but he's getting pretty good at stopping when I tell him. Both boys loved this, splashing the water, "fishing", grabbing the beads (and throwing them, eventually!) Daniel went and got his own spoon to scoop the beads, I love seeing his take on things like this. This activity is great for babies and toddlers, clearly, and kept them both amused for nearly an hour! Easily cleaned too, with a dozen towels! I'm excited to try something similar outside in the new water tray, which will make cleaning up much easier!
Please excuse the messy faces, Mr Independent isn't fantastic at wiping his own mouth!

001. Joshua's actual birthday was apparently poorly documented, his first taste of chocolate & the bubble machine were the only things I took pictures of. The boys' Godmother looked after them while I worked in the morning, & the obviously had a blast. We celebrated with pizza with friends while Joshua napped, and headed to Nanny & Grandad' for dinner. A pretty regular day, but with lots of extra kisses & renditions of "Happy Birthday to you!" Just like that, he's one.

002. The weather's been okay this week, a little cloudier & chillier but it is England after all. It's raining now but it's supposed to be quite nice this week. Daniel's desperate to play in the sand, but we realised today our water table isn't in the garage it got broken, so I've ordered a new one that Colin's going to pick up tomorrow. D's been begging for days, even putting his sunglasses on & getting his rake ready today, poor kid was heartbroken when Daddy came back empty handed. Fingers crossed the weather stays nice enough to enjoy it!

003. I'm having a lot of fun browsing Pinterest and planning our Summer Bucket List for this year. You can see our old lists, and links to relevant posts, in the tabs under the header. I'm aiming to do two activities a week, plus the regular park/library trips. I'm also trying to put together a cleaning schedule so I don't feel like I spend all my time tidying to no avail. Wish me luck?

004. We've had another awesome weekend. Yesterday we went to Beale Park with my parents, saw lots of animals & played in a super cool park. We made pizzas for dinner too. Today we had a family breakfast, then headed out on a bike ride to feed the ducks. Looking forward to lots of family bike rides this 'summer'. We went out to dinner this evening too, with Colin's family, which was delicious even though we had to wait over an hour for our food. The best part of weekends though, is family naps.

005. Tomorrow we have Joshua's 12 month immunisations. Sad face. Poor kiddo hasn't been feeling great this week, getting really grumpy & fussy, sometimes with a temperature. We've both been sleeping really badly, two nights ago he woke with such a blazing fever I was too worried to sleep, so we're exhausted too. I'm blaming teeth, and thankfully found his amber anklet this afternoon so hopefully he feels a little better. Poor baby's has red eyes & a cough all day today, we'll see. Not looking forward to the jabs making him feel even worse.
