505. White Chocolate Crispie Cakes

One morning I found myself craving something sweet, as always, but we didn't have any butter. I'm not sure what gave me the idea to make crispie cakes, but after a quick look on Pinterest I found this recipe. It looked easy enough for Daniel to help with, bar the heating the marshmallows and chocolate on the hob, and I had all the ingredients in the cupboards. Win! I put Joshua to bed while Daniel pulled a chair into the kitchen and brought all his 'friends' to help us. We used cups to measure our ingredients, which was great because Daniel could really help, we counted together and Daniel loved pouring the ingredients - back and forth between the cups, bowls, and his diggers too! We only made a half batch, as we didn't have enough rice crispies, or marshmallows actually, but as Daniel decided he didn't even like the look of it that's probably a good thing as I've eaten the rest! I didn't even get a picture of the finished result, we cut into it straight after lunch! White chocolate and marshmallows are the perfect combination, and these treats were satisfyingly crunchy too! I'm loving spending this time in the kitchen every week, especially with Daniel as I know he enjoys it too, it's great bonding time for us and I love watching him learn!
