I snapped some pictures of the boys on the way to Nanny's today.Joshua wasn't so into it. Daniel however, kept stopping and asking me to take his picture, which was awesome and adorable! Even though the sun was shining it was freezing, someone remind me to dig out my gloves!

It's our last night in this house tonight, we exchanged today and will complete tomorrow morning. Colin and my Dad are going to pick the van up first thing, there's a teeny bit of packing to do last minute but it won't take long. It's all starting to seem real now, our very own house!!

WATCHING Geordie Shore. I'm streaming online and the quality is terrible, it keeps freezing & buffering, but it's so awful it's fantastic!

WISHING that the beautiful decor ideas in my head come to life! I'm thinking plain and simple with pops of colour, planning on painting furniture, and lots of photographs!

WAITING to go to sleep! I'm such an old lady, & stressing out so much is really taking it's toll!

WONDERING what Milo's doing, and if he's okay. We made the heartbreaking decision to give him away today, for a few reasons - it was for the best but I'm still so upset!

WORRYING that everything won't go to plan with our move. The solicitors have caused some issues and earlier today we thought we might be homeless for a while as we may not be able to exchange/complete on Friday, but Colin's spent the day on the phone and hopefully tomorrow it'll be all sorted!

I'm drowning my sorrows with a glass f wine, making a to-do list for tomorrow including the last of the packing & cleaning! I'll be so glad when we're in and sorted! Fingers crossed for us!

424. Hobbies. Toddle Along Tuesday.

Like Melissa, I used to start to panic a little when I (for whatever reason) had to tell somebody my "hobbies" or "what I like to do" because I didn't really consider the things I liked to do (hanging out with friends, shopping etc) hobbies! Now I'm a little older, and have two children, my free time is like gold-dust, so I try to use it well!

My genuine favourite thing is to hang out with my boys! I don't need that "alone me time" most Mum's do, I miss them too much! Crazy huh? And if Colin's not working, we hang out as a family, going for breakfast or a walk to feed the ducks or something! Often when Daniel naps during the day I nurse Joshua to sleep and we snuggle, I'll have the TV on in the background - I love a bit of staged reality television, like Made In Chelsea and TOWIE, or Teen Mom/16 and pregnant/anything about babies or children!

When the boys are sleeping, I like to blog. Every night, and often during their naps, I can either be found writing a blog post, editing pictures, or reading other blogs. I love taking a sneaky peek into other people's lives, looking for inspiration and typing up our memories to be remembered forever!

The one thing I do take time for myself, is running. I started the C25k plan after I had Joshua, after never running at all, and I love it! I do tend to get a little bored after a while, but I enjoy spending half an hour outside, in the fresh air, zoning out to the music. It makes me feel pretty great about myself too!

I also enjoy art, especially painting, but can't seem to find the time and hence haven't practiced for years. I do however like to paint wooden letters, as gifts for friends and their babies! I would like to consider myself crafty, in that I like making things, but I can't sew or knit, I don't own a glue-gun or heaps of fabric! So the things I make have to be fairly easy! Especially as I often have a two-year old in tow! I like baking too, cakes and cookies are our favourite (though I am yet to find my perfect cookie recipe, and suggestions would be very welcome!)

I keep thinking of other things, but I very rarely actually do them, so I'll leave it al that! Andplusalso, it's 2:30am and Joshua's gone back down to sleep so I'm going to do the same! Fingers crossed he doesn't get his arm caught in his crib bars again!!

423. Our Week in iPhone Pictures [061]

My creation
My creation
My creation
My creation

My creation

Five things that made me happy this week...

01. A wonderful Sunday - breakfast out with my favourite boys (pancakes!!), a visit to my Nana's, and then to Colin's parents' for dinner! Food and family is the way to my heart!

02. My little sleeping beauty. I can't stop taking pictures of Joshua sleeping!!

03. Seeing Colin's family today at a lunch for his Grandad's 80th birthday. It was really nice to see his lovely cousins, they met Joshua for the first time and absolutely doted on him!

04. Made in Chelsea! I'm so obsessed, it's so terrible and amazing at the same time!!

05. The thought that this time next week we'll be in our new house and I won't ever have to pack again! I must have packed 20+ boxes now, we have run out of them and the packing tape (Okay Mum, you told me so!) and I feel like I've barely made a dent! My house is a state too because every spare moment has been spent packing! Tomorrow morning, while Daniel's at Pre, I'll be going on a serious tidying/packing spree!

422. Fun Christmas Meme.

Untitled

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate! With a little milk & mini marshmallows on top okay?

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrap them! I secretly love wrapping presents, though I did get frustrated on Daniel's first Christmas because he didn't care at all! Haha. I'm ridiculous. Having said that, I probably won't be wrapping Joshua's this year! Especially as his main present is a Learn & Groove activity table!

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Tricky. White, though I do love the colours. I'm a bit of a mad woman when it comes to the three though, everything has to match!

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Nope.

5. When do you put your decorations up? I'm planning on doing it basically as soon as we move, which is the 30th November. Saves putting them up into the loft eh?

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Cauliflower cheese. Not exactly holiday-ish, but I LOVE it and I always get excited when it's served with a roast!

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? One year my parents sent us on a treasure hunt of sorts, around the house, with little rhymes for clues. At the end, my brother and I found out we were going to Disney!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I don't even remember. I suck.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? No way! Though this year I'm starting the tradition of Christmas pyjamas, popcorn & a festive film for the boys!

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? I mentioned I'm pretty anal with the tree. Colin isn't really even allowed to help because he doesn't do it right! I like traditional red and green, and a little gold too.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? I love it for like a day. Like really love it! Crunching through fresh snow, wrapping up warm, building snowmen, sledging! Awesome. But then, when it gets all slushy and icy, I'm not such a fan.

12. Can you ice skate? No. Well, a little. One time, early in our relationship, Colin mentioned going and we invited my friend Rachael too. I was like "I actually suck" and they were both like "Yeah, we suck too" but when we arrived THEY BOTH HAD THEIR OWN BOOTS. I smelled a rat right then. They were both brilliant, and spend the remainder of the night dragging me round and trying to give me a heart attack. Never again.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but I can't really think of anything! I think one time, I got a bike & it was just there in the middle of the room. I was pretty excited!

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Spending time with everyone I love. And mulled wine.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? I pretty much like most desserts, especially anything involving chocolate.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? We don't really have any traditions - I'm looking forward to starting some with the boys. I'm looking for inspiration, so if you have any special traditions, let me know in the comments!

17. What tops your tree? An angel, but I'd love it to be a star - the top of our tree is long and spindly and doesn't hold much weight!

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? I love both. There's something so exciting about thinking of something great for a specific person, something you know they'll love, and waiting to see their reaction when they open it. I like making people happy. But who doesn't like presents!

19. Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum? Yum!

20. Favorite Christmas show? I love the Santa Clause movies and Elf.

21. Saddest Christmas Song? Isn't that The Pogues song actually full of sad lyrics? I love that song though.

22. What is your favorite Christmas song? That's so tough. I love ALL Christmas songs. Seriously. I can't choose one!

Thanks Jess, via Lyds!

I'm totally in the Christmas spirit this year, I think everyone is! I'm gutted that we can't put our tree up till next week (unlike EVERYONE on my IG feed!!) but it's starting to sink in that it will be our very own house so I'm getting excited! Tomorrow is for more packing, tidying and having lunch out for Colin's Grandad (also know as GG)'s 80th Birthday! Happy Weekend!

HOPING everything goes according to plan with our move, & it works out. We are having a homebuyers survey done & won't get the results until two days before we are due to complete and move, so fingers crossed it all comes back okay! I've packed sixteen boxes so far, and we have seven days left. I'll do it!

ENJOYING the peace and quiet while both my boys are sleeping!

INSPIRED BY Pinterest! I've been browsing for inspiration for our new home - simple, neutral with pops of colour, and great storage!

LISTENING TO a programme about pampering children, and children's beauty parlours. A little OTT I think...

CRAVING something sweet, I'm stuck under a sleeping babe but I really fancy a little bit of chocolate!

Hoodie & skinnies: H&M.
Socks: Gift from Nana.

These aren't the greatest pictures, but I couldn't resist. The weather hasn't been great today, very grey and windy, so the light was against us. But Daniel was hamming it up wearing his new red skinnies, and I think I'm dead six-feet-under from the cute. They may be from the girls section, and be a size too small for his age, but they fit perfectly (I'm having a real struggle finding trousers to fit his little waist in big boy pants!) and he looks adorable!! I think they may be a contender for part of his outfit for our family pictures on Saturday! Though I have NO idea what I'm going to wear! Kiddo's out right now (way past his bedtime!) with his Daddy, getting his hair cut for the occasion. Joshua's tucked up in bed and I'm in my onesie & slipper boots with a large glass of wine. Today was a very long day, both boys were out of sorts for one reason or another, and there was more crying and whining than usual. But we survived, and we got doughnuts in town this morning (and new nail varnish for Mama!) so I'll class it as a win!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers!

427. Embrace the Camera [019]

At the weekend we went to Colin's parents' and I asked his Mum to take some pictures of us to use on a birthday card for his Grandad. This is what we got. The lighting wasn't great and the kiddos were wriggly, so they're not perfect, but that's life!

There's a sneak-peek into A Day In Our Lives on The Domestic Wannabe and I've written about some of my favourite, and forgotten, newborn things over on They Grow So Quick

Head on over and check them out! I'm currently lying in bed, watching Made In Chelsea and eating biscuits! Colin's out playing football and the boys are in bed, so I'm going to catch up on some blogs!

Five months - I'm currently drowning my sorrows in Lindt's dark chocolate with orange & almonds. It's helping a little. A friend came over today and commented that it only feels like a little while ago that Daniel was that small, which is so true and so scary.

My littlest is just wonderful. He's growing perfectly - I had him weighed last week and he was 15lb 2oz, which I believe is just under the 50th percentile still. I do think he's quite long though, his 0-6m sleeping bag seems a little short already! Fitting perfectly into 3-6m clothes, even some 0-3 trousers, and I'm considering getting out the M nappies as the XS are getting quite snug (especially with a night-time booster!) We're still exclusively breast feeding, still every 3-4 hours, though we're thinking about starting some baby rice this week. I was hoping to get my frozen milk supply up first but I haven't been great at finding time to pump! Joshua's been waking more often for the past couple of nights - the night before last nearly every hour! I'm not sure whether he's hungry or cold or in pain from his teeth, but I do feed him back to sleep (I keep contemplating getting him a dummy/pacifier because he often just sucks to get to sleep, but I really hate them & for now I don't mind him using me!) I let him feed for longer tonight before putting him down, so fingers crossed he sleeps a little better, I'm quite the zombie now! He takes naps in between each feed during the day, we're not on a schedule for them at all, he just falls asleep as and when. Still prefers to be rocked/pushed/fed to sleep, perhaps when he's 6 months I'll try with the sleep training - it worked wonders with Daniel! When he's awake he likes to be watching his brother, preferably stood upright (mental note, get Colin to get the door bouncer from the loft!) or lying on his stomach. We officially have a mover too, not quite crawling but almost army crawling or rolling to get to what he wants! Taking these pictures was a nightmare because he just kept wriggling over to me and trying to eat the camera! He has been getting his knees right up underneath him for a couple if weeks so I don't think it'll be long! I've been trying to get him to practice sitting but he's not interested, he just wants to stand! Baby loves reading books, especially those with funny noises & he squeals with delight. Watching Daniel 'read' to him is one of the sweetest things in the world! His favourite things right now are Sophie the Giraffe, cars, a monkey rattle, and the cat. Teeth have become slightly more of a pain the last week or so, dribbling enough to fill a swimming pool and constantly shoving anything and everything in his mouth - fingers are a firm fave!

I love the way you roll right over when I lie you in your cot, and lift your arms over your head. It's just adorable.

I love the way you smile at everyone we meet, you're just the happiest baby!

I love the way your eyes open wide and your forehead wrinkles when you see something that interests you.

I love that your hair's getting thicker and darker, that you might be looking a little like Mama!

I love the way you giggle, peek-a-boo and funny noises are sure to get a little squeak!

I love you Joshua-boo, lots and lots like jelly tots.

417. Leaves and rubbish trucks #boymom

On the way to pre-school this morning, we were rushing (as always, a little late) through a blanket of beautiful coloured leaves. I thought for a second, I've been wanting to take some pictures in a setting like this, and I was running out of time. So on the way home, I wore Joshua so Daniel couldn't just jump on the buggy board and ignore his surroundings, and we took a leisurely stroll home. Even though it was cold, and normally we would have gone straight back for lunch, we wandered and soaked up the moment, the beautiful colours. We're forever rushing, getting ready to go out, getting to where we need to go, rushing home, rushing lunch, to get the boys to sleep, I felt i was missing out on him. When we came up son the leaves Daniel exclaimed "Wow! What pretty leaves!" And selected a few to take home with us, including the hugest leaf I have ever seen! I encouraged him to play in the leaves, kicking them and throwing them (which he wasn't interested in doing, unsurprisingly. He's a little prissy when it comes to getting his hands dirty!) We played for a while, until Daniel heard the rubbish truck! We then spent a good 10-15 minutes following it around, watching the men load the bins into the back, then put them back by their houses. Daniel was awestruck, especially when the men waved at him when they left! He told everyone about it, which made me especially glad we hadn't rushed home again this time, because he had had fun in that extra half hour, and I did too!
