367. Spaghetti Sensory Play [SBL]
If you couldn't tell by now, I do love a good messy/sensory activity! I think it's great for kiddos for explore new things, using all their senses. Spaghetti sensory is something I probably spotted on Pinterest, and I also found this idea for an ocean sensory bin which I loved. On a lovely hot day last week I decided to take two birds with one stone. I cooked some spaghetti, added green and blue food colouring and put it in a bowl. I also filled up the paddling pool and added some 'ocean' bath toys, as I thought once we were finished exploring the spaghetti we could put it in the pool! I introduced the spaghetti as worms as first, so Daniel placed them on the floor and squealed! I explored right along side him, picking up handfuls and letting it fall through my fingers, and Daniel started copying me, giggling! Note: we did get our fingers slightly stained green, but it washed straight off! As Daniel's attention dwindled I mentioned putting the 'worms' in the water like seaweed, which he was very excited about & helped me pour it in. He liked wiggling his toes in it, and dropping it in the water to make a splash! After awhile, Daniel decided the spaghetti was like a fishing rod and that he was fishing "like Croccy" (from Raa Raa, isn't it amazing what children pick up!). We spent a good hour, if not longer, playing with the spaghetti, until Daddy came home and the boys started rough housing and playing football!

Colin & I are having a home date night tonight, watching Harry Potter with popcorn & snuggling on the sofa. Happiest.
Lots of Love
