Last week we spent a lot of time outside, luckily because the weather this week is horrible! One evening we headed outside with a blanket & some books (Joshua was asleep in his pram) originally to take some 'book' shots for Daniel's alphabet photo book. Which we did, but we also took some pictures of us, reading & being silly (Yes, Daniel is sitting on my back like I'm a horse!) I love reading with Daniel, and even Joshua now, the perfect excuse to snuggle up & spend quality time together!

Right now I'm lying on the sofa, with a Diet Coke and a baby asleep on my chest, watching theParalympics. It's absolutely incredible, I watched the whole of the swimming in such awe, so much respect for these athletes! I did miss the Opening Ceremony though (again) because Colin was out & I was snuggled in bed with snacks, reading blogs! We've started putting Joshua down to bed after his feed, at around 8:30 which is working really well for him, but I miss the evening cuddles! I spent way too much time last night watching him sleep. Yes, I'm that creepy Mum!

Monday, we went to our usual toddler group which Daniel loves! Boy, does it tire him out though! & two of my best friends came over to 'play'. My poor friends are so patient with my two little darlings, I'm so lucky! The weather was lovely & we chilled in the garden for most of the afternoon, and evening, being cute and whatnot. Tuesday, we had a very successful shopping trip & treated ourselves to lunch. Daniel is getting so grown up, I almost want it to stop. See him, sitting in a booth by himself, drinking out of a glass with a straw!?! He was good as gold too, while we waited for our food & I fed Joshua. We went to the zoo on Wednesday! Post soon to come, Daniel loved the giraffes and penguins (that one is his favourite one!) After the zoo we went to see my Nan, and Daniel found a new best friend in my cousin Harry, it was the sweetest! He styled his own hair at bath time, and snuggled with his new teddies at bed time. Side note, when he went to bed that evening he told me "Me yike com-come out wif you, me haf fun! Me see big giraffe, me see baby giraffe!" aaaand my heart melted into a giant puddle. Thursday Joshua looked adorable in his dinosaur outfit, & snuggled with Daddy. We spent the morning with my Mum & the afternoon with the boys' Godmother. Friday, we spent the day at my parents' like always, Joshua looked adorable in stripes (and moccasins for about three minutes!) and Daniel looked like a big kid on his scooter. Saturday, Daniel showed us how amazingly good he is at walking in heels, sat at the big table like a big boy (he insisted we sit in the garden to eat our brunch & we got caught in a sudden downpour!) and played us some tunes on the guitar. Joshua was super adorable & super cheeky, crying at dinner time until Granddad let him sit on his lap, little player. Yesterday we went on the longest walk ever (THREE HOURS!) because Daniel fell asleep on the way home from visiting my Nana, in Joshua's pram! So we walked to a supermarket to get dinner, the scenic route, went to feed the ducks and play at the park before walking back home. My legs hurt so bad!! We had a BBQ for dinner & my Dad lit his chiminea, to Daniel's amazement! Recap over, well done if you're still reading!

Today we've had the best day, Colin was at home with us which was extra lovely, I'll post more soon! I'm seriously tired & Joshua went down for the night at 8:30 so I could have a bath so I could be in for an awful night, I'll let you know tomorrow if it was worth it!

Missing Colin. He's working longer hours & though I was positive we'd make it work, damnit it's hard. By the time he gets home he wants to eat, & Daniel needs a bath so they barely see each other. It makes me so sad. & once he's in bed we both collapse on the sofa, strain at the TV, barely enough energy to string a sentence together. I'm overly emotional at the moment & I have to hold back the tears everyone I think about it. He's right next to me now, but he's asleep. :(
Craving wine and chocolate. It's been a tough day, we've been at home all day, with a few visitors but I'm a little stir crazy. Add to that serious stomach cramps & a babe who just wants to feed every 20 minutes, I'm VERY happy to be sitting with a large glass if rosé & some plain chocolate.
Anticipating tomorrow. & a good night's sleep. Things will be better tomorrow. Plus we get to hang out with my Mama all day!
Thinking about my littlest, and how big he's getting. Kiddo's fitting into 0-3 month sleepsuits & looking BIG. It makes me happy that I'm obviously feeding him well, but sad that my newborn is disappearing. If I could I'd freeze both boys at the ages they are now. A gorgeous squishy newborn, and a clever chatty toddler. It's awesome.
Singing "Whistle" by Flo Rida. Everyone I whistle, Daniel sings "whistle baby whistle baby" & tries to whistle too, adorable!!

Another month. We're enjoying every moment, sneaking in cuddles every afternoon & evening when Daniel's asleep. Joshua's changing every day, looking bigger and bigger, and more and more like Daniel and Colin. His hair has lightened quite a lot but he's still very brown, and his eyes still haven't decided what colour to be. We're still breast feeding, sometimes every hour, sometimes every three but he still seems to be feeding for the same length of time in total. I'm so lucky to find it so easy, it's perfect for us. We bath the boys together every night, get their pyjamas on & read 'Goodnight Moon' while I nurse Joshua in our bed. He often feeds twice in fairly quick succession, and may want one more feed before I go to bed, but then sleeps soundly. Often only waking up once a night, around 5am. He wakes me by wriggling so much his Moses basket creaks and he squeaks a little. He has a lot more awake time now, but often demands some fuss or attention. Daniel's amazing with him, speaking softly and copying what I say & holding his hands. He is content for a short while lying on his tummy or his back, and can roll over or wriggle around. Joshua hasn't shown any interest in toys at all, but likes looking at my black & white phone cover. I think we'll get the play-mat out again tomorrow, see what he thinks of that. He also likes to be upright, and nosing on what's going on around him. Such a sweet, inquisitive boy.

Joshua Reg,
I loved your skinny little frog legs, they were like twigs at the beginning of this month, but you're getting some chubby thigh rolls which I might love even more.
I love the little squeaking noises you make while you eat, & the way you grab at my shirt, holding on so tightly.
I love the way you stroke my back while you're feeding, like you're giving me a hug.
I love the way your face lights up & you wriggle like mad when you hear my voice.
I love your smile, and your sleep-face, and even your cry face when your bottom lip wobbles. I could stare at you all day.
