323. Rice Sensory Play [SBL]
Another fab sensory activity. I dyed the rice in plastic ziplock bags, with food colouring and water, letting it sit for a few minutes and then laying it out on newspaper overnight to dry. We actually did this activity first for the Jubilee, hence the patriotic coloured rice, but Daniel just made a mess with the rice and I didn't have enough patience (being very pregnant) so it went away fairly quickly. This time I sat him in his paddling pool to contain the mess, in the kitchen where clean-up would be easier, and let him explore. I gave him some bowls and spoons to play with, and he spent ages pouring the rice from one tub to another, running his fingers through it and driving his car round and round. This was a great sensory play for him, and kept him amused for about half an hour. Another thing crossed off the list!

Daniel's staying at my parents' tonight, and Joshua's asleep so it's a cosy night in with my fiancé. Of course, we're both on our iPads, watching Geordie Shore! Romantic!
