Last week we tried potato printing! I cut a couple of jacket potatoes (though any would do!) in half, and carefully cut some shapes out, I used a biscuit cutter for the circle. I'm working on teaching Daniel basic shapes at the moment so I chose triangle, circle, square and rectangle. I put some paint in shallow bowls, demonstrated what to do (Daniel just looked at the potatoes and asked for a brush!) and then let him go to town! After a while he started to use his hands instead, so we had a mixture of finger & potato painting! We talked about the different shapes as he stamped, so was great bonding time for us and he seemed to really enjoy himself. This would be a great activity to do over and over, with different shapes or patterns on the potatoes, it kept Daniel entertained for just over half an hour.

Tonight we went out for my birthday dinner, and were supposed to be going to a post-wedding party, but Daniel wasn't himself - just cuddly and quiet, didn't even want to eat his chips and had a temperature - so we've just come home. My littlest boy has been a bit sick-y today too, I hope they're not coming down with something! Joshua's too small to be poorly!! Fingers crossed they both sleep okay and are back to normal in the morning!
